EROS, in ancient Greece, was the god of love passion, love desire, love possession.

In “The Banquet”, the philosopher Plato, through the voice of one of his characters: Aristophanes, gives a version of love. In the original times, men and women were double. They had two heads, four arms, four legs and two sexes (two feminine or masculine for the homosexuals, one feminine and one masculine for the heterosexuals). These beings wanted to climb the sky to attack the gods. Then, Zeus – the god of gods according to the greek mythology – cut them in two to weaken them and they found themselves amputated of their other part. And we, their incomplete descendants, are constantly trying to find our half to form this original unity again – hence the feeling of fullness we feel when we are in love. Love is therefore the desire to reunite and merge with the loved one to become one.
